Tasked with turning this prominent corner location opposite Jersey’s Central Market into a neighbourhood wine bar and meeting place, A|NY looked to the building’s past for inspiration. Using the building's previous incarnations to inform the renovation and decor, every detail in the bar has been considered and curated to meet the client’s brief.
The decorative timber panelling and brass detailing are a nod to the traditional, but A|NY have included contemporary touches such as the burnt orange leather and suspended bar shelving to give the space a fresh finish. A limited budget meant A|NY had to make use of a selective palette of materials, but brass, blue and stained oak mean the interiors follow a coherent theme.
Making the most of the location, windows and door panes with clear glass allow passers-by to look inside and emit a warm inviting glow in the evening.
The bulkhead bar shelving includes a sequence of custom shelves, high enough to fit a typical wine bottle, then decorated with faux silk plants to create a central focal point around the bar.
